Larry D. James of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) announces the GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) Follow-On Mission which extends the innovative measurements of the GRACE Mission which ended in September. Among its innovations, GRACE has monitored the loss of ice mass from Earth's ice sheets, improved understanding of the processes responsible for sea level rise and ocean circulation, provided insights into where global groundwater resources may be shrinking or growing and where dry soils are contributing to drought, and monitored changes in the solid Earth.  The Follow-On Mission satellite now orbiting the earth is collecting very precise gravity measurements that allow for the monitoring of data such as the aquifer depletion in California.

Congratulations to Blake Stephens, Architecture and Drafting Technology Department Chair at Saddleback College, who was recently named the 2017-2018 Faculty Member of the Year in honor of his contribution to the Saddleback College Veterans Education and Transition Services Program. As Architecture and Drafting Technology Department Chair at Saddleback College, Blake Stephens manages 17 faculty members and class schedules for architecture, drafting technology, construction inspection and rapid digital manufacturing courses.
